Bravo Wine: A Design that Exudes Elegance and Nobility

A Premium Limited Edition Reserve Crafted by Hu Jijun

Grape is a precious gift from nature, which brings people health, blessing, joy, and rich emotion. At the same time, the development of winemaking technology shows the progress of human scientific and technological civilization, shaping a high-quality human culture.

Bravo Wine, designed by the talented Hu Jijun, is a true testament to the fusion of nature's bounty and the pursuit of excellence. Inspired by the inherent beauty of grapes and the sophistication of winemaking, Bravo Wine encapsulates the essence of high quality and noble spiritual feelings.

The visual pattern of Bravo Wine draws inspiration from the world-famous Riedel crystal wine glasses, renowned for their authoritative representation of wine containers. Combined with the design of the fleur-de-lis, the national flower of France, Bravo Wine conveys its noble origin, pure quality, and elegant and noble emotional appeal.

Simple yet generous in its choice of materials, Bravo Wine utilizes Gmund's Bark art paper with a bark texture, providing a natural and pure tactile experience that complements its visual appeal.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Bravo Wine's design is the clever arrangement of the bottles. When two Bravo bottles are placed together, they form a complete glass, symbolizing unity and shared experiences. However, each bottle retains its independence, representing the unique taste and beauty of individuals. Whether enjoyed together or savored alone, Bravo Wine offers a rich and satisfying experience for both the palate and the spirit.

Bravo wines are produced in France, with a limited edition reserve of only 6,000 bottles. The grapes are grown organically on a single 3.6-hectare plot, hand-picked and sorted on the vines. With minimal canopy management and no pesticides or mildew-resistant chemicals, Bravo wines embody the commitment to natural and sustainable winemaking. The brewing process takes more than three weeks, utilizing natural yeast. The wine is then aged for 22 months in moderately ventilated and lightly oxidized cement tanks before being bottled unshaped and unfiltered. The addition of sulfur dioxide before bottling is minimal, ensuring the preservation of the wine's natural qualities.

Bravo Wine is available in two variants: White Wine with 13.5%vol and Red Wine with 13.5%vol, both in 750ml bottles. The design specifications are a testament to the meticulous attention to detail that Hu Jijun has brought to this project.

The realization of Bravo Wine's design is achieved through the use of Gmund Urban Brasilia paper, with hot stamp and screen printing techniques adding the finishing touches.

Bravo Wine was conceptualized and brought to life between February 2017 and June 2018 in Shanghai. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted, including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with consumers. This research helped shape the prototype models and assess the brand image effectively.

The design of Bravo Wine presented its fair share of challenges. Hu Jijun aimed to create a simple yet captivating design that would directly attract consumers and leave a lasting impression. Through creative thinking and a deep understanding of the brand, these challenges were overcome, resulting in a design that truly stands out.

Recognized for its exceptional design, Bravo Wine was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life. Bravo Wine's design showcases the seamless integration of art, science, design, and technology, making it a true gem in the world of packaging design.
